Does Acupuncture work?
Yes it does, much research has been done and this is why it is currently being used by the NHS as an effective method of pain management.
What are the chemical Effects of Acupuncture?
On a local level you have increased production of Histamine, Bradykinin and Phagocytic activity which promotes healing. There is also an increase of Endorphins which are the bodies naturally produced painkillers.
On a spinal cord level you have increased Serotonin and reduced Dopamine which regulate analgesia and your overall wellbeing.
What if I am scared of needles?
The needles are incredibly fine, they are not the same needles used when you have blood taken. If you are worried please tell me and I will explain the procedure to you in detail.
How does Acupuncture feel?
Sometimes you will feel a deep warm and tingly feeling as the needle is inserted, this takes only second or so. Once the needle is in place you will forget that it is there.
Are there any Contraindications to Acupuncture?
Yes there are.
Patients who are in heart failure or with acute cardiac arrythmias are not suitable for acupuncture.
Certain skin conditions or infections can also mean that acupuncture is not suitable for you. Care has to be taken if you take anti-coagulants or if you have unstable diabetes, as acupuncture is known the affect blood sugar levels. If you have any queries contact me directly.
Do you provide home visits for acupuncture?
Yes I can come and see you at home or you can come to me. I need a clean well sized room to work in with no animals present, this is to ensure your safety. I also have a comfortable therapy couch that I bring with me.
Why do you combine Treatments?
Both Reiki and acupuncture work with energy flow and to combine treatments together gives your body a more in depth boost of energy. Reiki can also reduce pain so to combine them is advantageous.
Do you work in confidence in all areas?
Absolutely…I have a professional duty to protect your information. When I work in the arena of Spiritual Growth Readings it will often bring to the surface suppressed emotions to enable you to work through them and is why I do not allow other people in the room. Such information is very personal and I respect this.
Why do you have questionnaires for Psychic Development Groups and Reiki Attunements?
This is to ensure that we are the right energy to work together. I do not run open psychic development groups due the mix of energies that come together. I need to ensure that I am working with people who will mix together well as a group. It also gives me an overview of what you wish to achieve from working with me and so I can group people with similar needs together.
What is a Reiki attunement?
A Reiki attunement is the process by which a person receives the ability to give Reiki treatments to both the self and to others. The attunement is administered by the Reiki Master during the Reiki one to one attunement. During the attunement, the Reiki Master will touch the students head, shoulders, hands, and sometimes feet. They will use one or more special breathing techniques. The attunement energies will flow through the Reiki Master and into the student. These energies are guided by the Higher Power and make adjustments in the students energy pathways and connect the student to the source of Reiki. Because the energetic aspect of the attunement is guided by the Higher Power, it adjusts itself to be exactly right for each student. During the attunement, some students feel warmth in the hands, others may see colours or have visions of spiritual beings or loved ones.
What level of support do you provide after Reiki attunements?
When you are attuned you will receive a package of information relevant to what level you are working within. Ongoing support is always available for all levels and this amount of support with increase throughout the level of attunements. Once Master level is attained you will find that I will be here whenever you need me to establish you as a Teacher yourself with tips on how to achieve effective attunements yourself.
Where does Reiki energy come from?
Reiki energy is a subtle energy. It is different than electricity or other kinds of physical energy. When viewed clairvoyantly, Reiki energy appears to come down from above and to enter the top of the practitioners head after which if flows through the body and out the hands. It appears to flow this way because of our perspective. However, the true source of Reiki energy is within ourselves. This does not mean that we use our personal energy when we do Reiki, but that the energy is coming from a transcendental part of ourselves that is connected to an infinite supply of healing energy.
