This a highly complex area for investigation. You don’t need to have watched many programmes such as “Most Haunted” to understand the full implications of this when you are living in a house that is “behaving very strangely” and it can be extremely fearful. I have been there and I understand.

There are many reasons for why this can occur and of course you need to ensure that it is not because of perfectly natural phenomena. If you know it is not then it is best to get someone in to help you.

To understand this we need to think about energy. We are energy, thoughts are energy, ghosts are energy and spiritual entities are energy.

Ghosts

Ghosts are defined as residual energetic, auditory and visual replays. They are more like an analogy of the shell that a snake leaves behind when it sheds its external layer of skin. It is an energetic layer that contains information about the snake once the snake itself has left the area. What is often felt is the emotional element that is left within the skin, and that is what is felt by the person in the home. They will not interact with you, and they have a habit of appearing at repetitive times recreating the same visual and auditory displays like playing a film over and over again. They are harmless residual energy in such that they cannot interact or create other phenomena. Of course they can be unnerving if you see or hear them or they may influence your moods and thoughts in such that they can create fear within you. This fear then becomes a problem in itself because it permeates through your house.

Spiritual energies can come from a whole diverse source. They can roughly be divided up into earthattached spirits and higher dimensional spirits.

Earth-attached energies

In some cases once someone passes, for a whole variety of reasons, they (or a fragment of their energy) decide to remain attached to a place, a person or an event. They can have a variety of motives but they are very often confused and angry because they have no idea that they are in fact no longer “alive”. Living in confusion they become entirely attached to the concept that they are still in a human body. These energies can be communicated with and humans are able to interact with them. They live beyond our concept of linear time and become trapped in a reality of their own making, they either cannot or do not want to leave. They are capable of creating a range of phenomena from moving objects, creating smells, opening doors, and for sensitive people they can visually present themselves to you. These types of energies can play tricks on you and have the ability to pretend to be something they are not if that is their motive. They can be elusive or very prominent in your life depending on how you react to them. Often they are attracted to people who are sensitive, as in their confusion, they will often see you as someone who can help them. On an energetic level they see your intuitive and spiritual abilities even if you are not aware of them. The more sensitive you or your family members are, the more likely you are to have contact with them. One thing for sure is that if you get angry or fearful around them you will trigger more behaviour. It becomes a vicious cycle. Now here I am portraying the worst case scenario. Many are just lost and scared are desperately looking for a way out from where they are and they will try desperately hard to get your attention. Whatever their motive, they need a non judgemental approach to help them. There is one vital point to remember when working with these energies, they have the same freewill that you and I have and they cannot be forced to leave if they do not want to. It is for this reason that I do not work from the classical concept of exorcism. They have a right to be where they are the same as we do. I can talk to them and do my best but if they refuse to go there is nothing I can do except reason with them. I have only encountered one energy that refused to leave and she was a harmless old lady who passed by falling out of a window of the house. She told me that her duty was to protect the people in the house and to stop them from falling too. So she guarded the window and she would not leave no matter how much I talked to her. She thanked me for being there but was adamant about her duty. I respected her wishes. In extreme cases where humans are being put at risk higher dimensional energies usually will intervene.

Higher Dimensional Energies.

As a spiritual energy yourself you have a network of higher dimensional energies such as guides and loved ones who are around you whether you recognise they are there or not.

If part of your life path is working towards spiritual growth they may well come and visit you. They are not to be confused with earth-attached energies and they are presenting themselves to you for a variety of reasons. As you develop you may see or feel them in a variety of forms ranging from visitations at night, or shadows that appear out of the corner of your eyes. You may feel presences around you and mistake them for something they are not. It is easy to immediately become fearful because you are heading into unknown territory which is why you need someone who is able to work out exactly what is going on in your house.

Phenomena created by Humans.

Sensitive people are very capable of creating phenomena such as telekinetic behaviour, and classic poltergeist activity. As a child I had an incident of telekinesis and no amount of “I never touched it …honestly” worked. Such internal energy surges can create external events. Common incidents such as electrical appliances blowing up, lights flickering, and loud bangs can be produced by humans because we are energy. If we are energetically unstable by either our thoughts because we are stressed, or fearful we can create activity around us by interacting with other electrical sources. It is easy to blame something else and presume it is spiritual activity when in fact the source could well be ourselves.

It is for this reason I mentioned fear earlier. Fear is a very powerful energy and it can also be used by earth-attached energies. Some will try to scare you just to get your fear energy which they can re-use to create physical phenomena. The more sensitive you are the more likely you are to experience any of the above. And conversely people who tend to be sceptical rarely have such phenomena happen. There are of course incidents where non believers have their belief systems changed.
